Our Story

The River is all about the power of God’s love. His love that was demonstrated through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We teach that love through his word, we celebrate that love through our worship, and we walk that love out through our relationships and service to others. The River is a church filled with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences coming together to discover and embrace gifts, talents, abilities and callings for God’s greater purpose on this earth.

God called my husband and I, along with our seven beautiful children, to launch The River three short years before Ed went home to be with the Lord. In that time, the Lord has drawn in and raised up an amazing group of people, a dynamic pastoral team and an Elder Board of mighty men who stand around myself, our children and this church like a fortress of valor! As a church, we’ve been called to reach, teach, and disciple-We’ve been called to help bridge the separations among Christian churches-We’ve been called to love a hurt and broken world. Now God is calling you. We'’d love to help you answer that call!

Young Adults Young adults are fleeing from church. Why? They typically say it’s because they don’t feel connected. The River knows this generation has the power to do tremendous things for the kingdom of God. It’s the mission of the Connected group to have young adults come together, hang out, get fed, and get to know each other.The group is open to 18 (graduated from high school or GED) to 24 year olds, single or married, whether they belong to a church or they’'ve never stepped foot in a church before. Strong relationships, powerful testimonies, support and accountability will help some find the way and help others maintain and improve their walk. This mighty time of prayer is open to everyone. It begins at 6 p.m. and runs in a way that will allow you to stay as long as you can and leave when you need to.

Every battle is won through prayer. Come and be supported by our prayer team and fellow believers.

The River is proud to announce it's support of Passion Play Ministries Intl and The Passion Play of Las Vegas. The cast and crew of 2012 will be performing the production of "He's Alive". "He's Alive" is a dramatic presentation of Jesus Christ that depicts the events surrounding His death, burial and resurrection.Auditions are Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. _ Las Vegas Church of the Nazarene.Actors, singers, cast, and crew of 120+ needed.All ages welcome!
